Beamfar

Beamfar vs UptimeRobot

In short

UptimeRobot is a general uptime monitor with a free plan and fast checks. Beamfar is narrower: it is built for agencies that look after client sites. It calls a site down only when two regions agree, shows what changed just before, and writes a monthly report per client. If you only need a ping, keep UptimeRobot. Beamfar’s paid plans open soon; the 14-day trial is free and needs no card.

Facts about UptimeRobot checked on 2026-10-28 (status pages, maintenance and DNS on 2026-10-29), each with its source below. Beamfar is in its soft launch: the 14-day trial is free and needs no card, and paid plans open soon; their prices may change before then.

Who each tool is for

How a site is called downTwo regions must agree. One region failing is shown as a regional issue and sends no alert. Each alert lists what each region saw.Up to three re-checks, about 10 to 20 seconds apart, from a different, randomly chosen data center in the same region; the article calls this sequential confirmation within one region, not a simultaneous vote. With several regions (paid plans) a monitor goes Down when any single region fails three consecutive checks.UptimeRobot help: locations and multi-location (modified 2026-10-26)
What changed before an incidentDNS records, the certificate, the final redirect URL and SEO signals are recorded on the site’s timeline. A change is marked when an incident follows within the next hour.DNS monitoring is listed on paid plans (DNS row below). Why it went downThe incident page shows the likely cause with its confidence and evidence, or says unknown, and drafts the note to the client in three lengths. Rules decide it, not an AI model. Every plan.Incident comments and root cause details are listed on Team and Scale, not on Free and Solo. A drafted note for the client is not listed (read 2026-11-02).UptimeRobot pricing
Risks across all clientsThe Client Risk Radar: one list across all clients of what could hurt a site next, each risk with its evidence; a check that could not be made is never an all-clear. Every plan. Not listed on the pricing page (read 2026-11-02).UptimeRobot pricing
Site security and SEO integrityEach site is read from outside for new script hosts, hidden links and text, spam vocabulary, redirects away and missing security headers; after a DNS proof of control also as Googlebot, as a visitor from a search result and as four AI crawlers, and for files that should never be public. Findings are possible problems with evidence, not verdicts. Tested on test pages; not yet run on customers’ sites. Not listed on the pricing page (read 2026-11-02).UptimeRobot pricing
Real-user speedCore Web Vitals that real Chrome visitors measured over 28 days, from Google’s Chrome UX Report, with no script on the site; a site with too few visits says so. Every plan. Not listed on the pricing page, which lists slow response alerts (read 2026-11-02).UptimeRobot pricing
Domain and certificate expiryBoth are watched, with alerts before expiry.SSL and domain-expiry monitoring are on paid plans (Solo and up); the Free plan does not include them (read 2026-11-02).UptimeRobot pricing
Reports for clientsOne monthly report per client, printable to PDF. Every number comes from stored checks; gaps say data unavailable.Monthly email reports are included on paid plans (Free plan: first 3 months only). The pricing page does not describe per-client reports.UptimeRobot pricing
Status pages1, 10, 30 or 60 per plan (Solo, Team, Agency, Agency Plus; 1 on Free). Only confirmed incidents show (two regions for page checks, the ping receiver for scheduled tasks); a day without data is never green. Visitors subscribe by e-mail with a double opt-in and get each confirmed incident, its resolution and the updates you post (Investigating, Identified, Monitoring, Resolved). The client’s own domain is built (a host name you verify with a DNS record, with a certificate) but not yet tested against real DNS and TLS.Free 1 basic page, Solo 3, Team 100, Scale unlimited. Password protection, white-label and subscriber notifications are listed from Team. Its status page says subscribers get automatic emails when the status changes, and announcements post updates for incidents and planned maintenance (read 2026-10-29).UptimeRobot pricing

Maintenance windowsOwners, admins and members schedule a window for the organisation, a client or a site, once or every week in a time zone. Checks keep running; alerts are held back, no incident opens, and the time is left out of uptime and the monthly report. A public window shows on the status page as planned maintenance. On paid plans only (listed from Solo). One-time or recurring, in the account’s time zone. Checks run less often inside a window, a failure there creates no incident, and the window does not count against the uptime statistics (help article dated 2026-07-31, read 2026-10-29).UptimeRobot pricing

DNS recordsA and AAAA records on every check, from two public resolvers. Name servers, MX, SPF, DMARC and CAA about every 15 minutes; a change counts when two regions see it (or one region twice), and the alert lists the records added and removed. On Solo, Team, Scale and Enterprise (pricing page, read 2026-11-02). It compares the records you choose (A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, NS, SOA, TXT, SPF, PTR, SRV and the DNSSEC records) with expected values you define, and alerts when one is modified, added or deleted. CAA is not listed (read 2026-10-29).UptimeRobot DNS monitoring

Rebranding for clientsAgency and Agency Plus plans: your name, logo and accent colour on reports and status pages. The terms forbid offering UptimeRobot data, status pages, alerts or API responses as a rebranded monitoring service without a separate agreement (section 14, read 2026-10-28). UptimeRobot’s own Team plan lists white-label status pages; the clause concerns reselling monitoring as a standalone service.UptimeRobot terms, section 14
Agency featuresSites grouped by client from the Solo plan, a pasted list of sites added in bulk, the roles owner, admin, member and viewer, and a read-only client portal on Team (10 client contacts) and Agency (1,000): a contact sees only that client’s sites, incidents, status pages and reports, and takes no seat. No reseller billing. Its agency page says monitors can be organised by client with tags and imported in bulk, and that clients can receive alerts through notify-only seats, so they need no login. Team lists 3 login and 3 notify seats. Monthly uptime reports are mentioned without saying they carry your brand; domain and SSL expiry reminders come 30, 14 and 7 days before and on the day (Solo and up).UptimeRobot for agencies (modified 2026-10-26)
Alert channelsEmail on every plan; Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, Telegram, Google Chat, PagerDuty, Opsgenie and ntfy on every paid plan; a signed webhook from the Team plan up; push notifications to your own devices from the installable app. No SMS or phone calls. The newer channels are tested against each service’s documented formats and push against a stand-in service, not yet against the services themselves.Email, SMS, voice calls. Integrations: 5 on Free, 9 on Solo, 12 on Team and Scale; the list includes Slack, Telegram, Webhook, Zapier and PagerDuty.UptimeRobot pricing
Acknowledge and escalateAnyone who may change checks acknowledges an incident in the app, through the API or with the signed link in an alert (every plan). On Team, Agency and Agency Plus an incident nobody acknowledged within 5 to 120 minutes tells a second channel once. No on-call schedules.Recurring and prolonging notifications are listed; acknowledging an incident and escalating to a second channel are not (read 2026-11-02).UptimeRobot pricing
History and people12 months (Solo) or 24 months (Team, Agency). People: 1, 5, 10.3 months (Free), 12 (Solo), 24 (Team, Scale). Team has 3 login and 3 notify seats; extra login seats cost extra.UptimeRobot pricing

Where UptimeRobot is better

  • A free plan with 50 monitors, and low entry prices for a handful of sites.
  • Faster checks: 30 seconds on Team and 15 seconds on Scale.
  • SMS and voice-call alerts, and a Zapier integration, which Beamfar does not have.
  • A platform API on every plan, Free included (its API page, read 2026-10-28). Its pricing page also links an MCP server (read 2026-11-02). Beamfar has a customer API with keys and twelve read-only MCP tools from the Team plan (keys that write on the Agency and Agency Plus plans).
  • Monitors for third-party services, and more monitors per plan (up to 500 on Scale).
  • It is on sale and in use today. Beamfar’s paid plans open soon.

Where Beamfar is better

  • Cross-region confirmation: a site is down only when two regions agree, so one flaky region never pages you.
  • An evidence pack per alert: what each region saw, not only that a check failed.
  • A what-changed timeline (DNS records, certificate, redirects, SEO signals) next to each incident.
  • SEO-risk alerts: noindex, robots.txt blocking and a canonical that moves to another host.
  • A monthly report per client, with every number traced to a stored check and gaps shown as data unavailable.
  • Sites grouped by client, and your own brand on reports and status pages on the Agency and Agency Plus plans.
  • A read-only client portal: a client contact sees that client’s sites, incidents, status pages and reports. UptimeRobot gives clients notify-only seats, which receive alerts without a login (pricing page, read 2026-11-02).
  • A drafted note for the client with each incident, next to the likely cause and its evidence. UptimeRobot’s Team and Scale plans list root cause details; a note for the client is not listed.
  • Site security and SEO integrity checks, including what four AI crawlers are served (tried on test pages only), one list of risks across all clients, and real-user speed from Google’s Chrome UX Report. None of the three is listed on UptimeRobot’s pricing page.

Questions

Is Beamfar better than UptimeRobot?

Not for every job. UptimeRobot is better for a free or cheap ping, SMS alerts and very frequent checks. Beamfar is better for agencies that need two-region confirmation, a what-changed timeline, SEO-risk alerts and a monthly report per client.

How does UptimeRobot decide a site is down?

According to its help center (modified 2026-10-26), it re-checks up to three times, about 10 to 20 seconds apart, from a different, randomly chosen data center in the same region. With several regions on a paid plan, a monitor goes down when any single region fails three consecutive checks.

Can I buy Beamfar today?

No. The 14-day trial is free and needs no card; paid plans open soon, and their prices may change before then. If you need to buy monitoring today, UptimeRobot is on sale.
