Can I connect an AI assistant (MCP)?

Short answer

Yes. Open AI assistants in the app (under Settings, next to API keys), the page Connect an AI assistant. An owner or admin makes a key there, copies the set-up text for Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor or VS Code, and presses Test connection to see the tools the assistant will get.

What it does

  • The assistant asks Beamfar questions such as “which sites are down?” or “what changed on this site this week?” and answers from your stored checks. It offers twelve tools and all of them only read: nothing can be added, changed or deleted, and billing, members and settings are out of reach. Two of them tell it about planned maintenance and about changes in the DNS records a DNS check watches, and two about security.
  • It says “data unavailable” instead of guessing when the app has no measurement. The two security tools describe possible problems seen from outside, never a verdict that a site was hacked, and a site that was not scanned is unavailable, not clean.
  • Text from monitored pages is passed on as untrusted data, never as instructions to the assistant.
  • It signs in with an API key (a read key is enough), so it is part of the Team, Agency and Agency Plus plans (API keys). The key acts as the member who made it; revoke it on the same page and the assistant stops at once.
  • The server address is shown on the page. The API documentation lists the details.

Beamfar is in its soft launch: the 14-day trial is free and needs no card, and paid plans open soon; their prices may change before then. These answers describe what the app does today.
