Getting started

How do I add my first site?

Short answer

Open the Portfolio, choose Add sites and paste one host name or address per line, for example www.example.com. Each site gets a page check, a certificate check and a DNS check at once, and each check runs from more than one region.

Steps

  1. Create your organisation and follow the Set up steps, or open the Portfolio at any time and choose Add sites.
  2. Paste the sites you look after, one per line. A line that cannot be added stays in the box with the reason, so you can correct it and add it again.
  3. In the set-up steps you then choose what to check on each site. A site added from the portfolio gets the page, certificate and DNS checks straight away; more kinds can be added later from its page with Add a check (which checks exist).
  4. Open a site to see its checks, its incidents and what changed.

What the first result looks like

Until a region has measured a site, it says First check running. A site is never shown as up before a measurement exists, and a site with no valid measurement is shown as data unavailable, not as up. The first result appears by itself.

The First day page lists what the first checks already found, most urgent first. Every finding is a Critical, Warning, Notice, Data unavailable or Fact entry with the evidence it rests on: the check, the region and the time. Two tables list the certificates and the domain registrations that expire soonest.

Limits

Your plan sets how many sites you can monitor, and the Billing page shows how many are in use. Past the limit nothing is deleted: new sites are refused until there is room. Your own e-mail address must be confirmed before checks start, and monitoring runs only while a trial or plan is active (how the trial works).

Beamfar is in its soft launch: the 14-day trial is free and needs no card, and paid plans open soon; their prices may change before then. These answers describe what the app does today.
