What a badge shows
- The status of the latest check, in the words of the status page: operational, outage, regional issue, planned maintenance or data unavailable.
- The uptime counted over the time that was measured. With nothing measured it says no data; it never shows a site as up for time nobody checked.
- The site’s host name or the page’s title, and nothing else: no incidents, people or internal ids.
Good to know
- The badge lives at an address nobody can guess, and anyone who has that address can see the status. Remove the badge makes the address stop working; a page that shows it may keep the last picture for up to about two minutes, because browsers and caches keep a badge for a minute. Making a new badge gives a new address.
- The text widget is a small script that writes plain text where you put it. It loads nothing else and sends nothing.
- A badge is refreshed about once a minute, so a busy page that shows it puts no load on its site.
- A status page badge works while the page is published. Owners and admins make and remove badges; everyone else in the organisation sees them.
- Badges are on every plan.
