How does the monthly client report work?

Short answer

A report for a month is made on the 1st of the next month (UTC), for the whole organisation or for one client. Open Reports to read it, to preview the month so far, and to print it or save it as a PDF to send to your client.

What is in it

  • A summary: the sites and checks, uptime, how much of the month was measured (coverage), confirmed incidents with their total time, regional issues, changes detected, and certificates expiring within 30 days after the month.
  • Recommended actions, an expiry calendar for certificates, and a section for each site with its checks and incidents. Each incident links to its evidence.
  • Gaps are stated, not hidden. Uptime is worked out from measured time, and a period with no valid measurement is shown as data unavailable, never counted as up. Regional issues are listed apart and are not counted as downtime (why). Time inside a planned maintenance window is left out of downtime, and the report says how much time was left out (how).

Preview

The Preview button (it reads “Preview”, the current month and “so far”) shows the report as it stands now. A preview is not stored or sent, and its numbers still change until the month is over.

Sending it

The report is for you to pass on. Use Print or save as PDF and send it to your client yourself: Beamfar does not send the report to your client. When a report has been made, the members of your organisation get an e-mail that says it is ready, with a link; the report is not attached. That e-mail has an unsubscribe link, and you can switch it off on the mail preferences page of the app.

Your own name, logo and colour on the report come from branding.
